Took out my Porsche 911 GT3-RS after a long break and its kinda twitchy?

Hello all, I have been driving a lot of other cars lately so I've kinda been ignoring the T3 king but I took it out this morning. I had some sad times on Country Club with my Carrera S so I decided to make myself feel better and beat those times with the GT3 RS.

Problem is, the 1st two starts I ended up sideways and once upside down before I got out of the tunnel. I drove the car for another 5 or so races and although I'm getting used to it again, I don't remember the handling being so twitchy. I can actually compare it to the Murcielago LP-640 when it first came out.

The Murc was worse, you touch the NOS and if you try and steer during the boost you'd spin. You had to wait until the NOS nozzles were dry before attempting a turn or even a small course correction. This GT3 RS isn't quite that bad but I'm having some issues with it.

Is the Carrera S so much more stable in handling that I'm now freaking out about the GT3 RS? I have been driving the Carrera S a LOT but still. This is quite odd.

Anyone else seeing somethng like this or am I going bonzo? I can make a video of this, or at least what happens at the start often but I'll wait and see for now. Car is retired so maybe they are working on it?

    Hi Wesley,

Yes you'r completly right, in the beginning it's very hard to control this car, but there are specific configurations to put on this car, to make this baby fly without powerover or almost .

Add me in game I'll tell you wich one.

And be cool, EA didn't touched to this beauty

    Cheers, Hypermiling.

    Hello Hypermiling,

I've driven this car since it came out but I've kind of ignored it lately. I've had too much fun with the Carrera S when it came out, then I couldn't stop driving the Toyota MR2 because it's just so awesome! The Exige is also a favorite.

Either way, I have it pro tuned with Ursa and Ventura parts. I don't think I can get a better part config for this car. Here is the car and it's parts:

The reason I was wondering if EA was working on it or changed something is because I'm a little confused on how they are going to work on the "retired" cars. This GT3-RS is now a retired car and Marc Devellis keeps saying they will work on the cars while they are retired. Well, how will this affect the current owners? Will EA test these "improvements" in the game? Will they keep the car improvements completely offline and not "enable" them until the car is "unretired" ?

I guess I'm mainly wondering if current owners will see the improvements as they are working on them.

    Thanks for your reply Hyper!

    Hi wesright,

You'r right, the Carrera S is very fun to drive, the only bad thing is the 6/7 gear wich are a little soft. Concerning the parts I have no advice to give you, you'r doing it great. Maybe increase the Accel*, your porsche will lose 1 KM/h, but the Accel gain will be unbelievable .

Let's have a look to the Aftermarket shop, wich lowerkit do you use?

    Because if you use the:

    Lowering Kit 2:

    - The steering in will be instant, but if you don't handle this car well you'll drive like a snake.

    Lowering Kit 3:

    - In comparaison of the lowerking kit 2, the steering will be less instant, but the control of the car will be 100%.

Also try to remove the wheels of the aftermarket shop, it can helps .

Try it and give me your opinion weS, thanks.

Thanks for the reply Hypermilling, I never noticed a difference in the lowering kits or the wheels but I'd like to think I can be open minded. I'll give some a try.

I sometimes stick with the stock rims if they look good, to me that is , for example the Carrera S. Those rims look cool to me so I left them. Same deal with the LP-640 Murc. It has cool stock wheels so I left them but when a silly looking car comes along, like the new Tier 2 Lambo I can't help but respond to silly with silly. I put the 21inch IGC hubcap looking rims on it.

Back to the lowering kits. Marc Devellis made a statement that I found odd in one of the Ask Marc vids. Again a question was asked about bodykits, lowering, etc. and again he answered that they are visual only and that they don't affect performance, etc. Now, he almost left it at that but before Drew could go on, Marc cut back in and said he wanted to clariry something. He said that the lowering kits do nothing to affect performance BUT, if a car is released with a lowered suspension then the car is tuned to maximize performance and that those lowering kits DO affect the performance.

Now, that bothers me because he wasn't exactly clear. I've bought cars that had a lowering kit installed already. So if I removed the Level 3 kit and put in the Level 1, would I change the car's performance? If it came with a level 2 lowering kit and I put in the level 3 kit, would I improve performance?

I haven't been suscessful in trying to talk with Marc to ask him about this. The last time I caught him on Facebook we chatted back and forth for about 10 minutes and he was very personable. He was honest with me I think and he answered all my questions at the time. Well, not all because some he couldn't or wouldn't.

I would say that the kit doesn't affect the performance much to actually make us notice it, but for "what if" situation I always lower my cars to either 2nd or 3rd level of lowering.
