player "notfound" via API

Hi,
some users of Player Stats of are complaining that they cannot find their players. I tried looking up their gamer tags with the API and I'm getting

{"status":"notfound"}

If I go the bf3stats, I see that the player is "added".

Is my app supposed to call a player lookup if I get the status "notfound" ? I thought that "pifound" was the code indicating that I need to perform a lookup.

The platform was correctly specified. I have not done the player lookup. The question is whether or not I should do it if I get a "notfound" after calling a playerlist request
